Nowadays, cars have become an essential means of transportation for families. In the interior of a car, the car seat cushion, as an important protective and comfort component, requires meticulous quality inspection and certification. The following are the inspection standards, factory inspection points, and inspection and certification requirements for car seat cushions.
1. Dimension and Appearance Inspection (Base for Inspection)
Dimension tolerance: The seat cushion size is 145×50 cm, with an allowable tolerance of ±2 cm.
Fabric flatness: No wrinkles, no fraying, no color difference, no contamination; Embroidery patterns are correct, no downy fibers.
Quality of bamboo silk: Free from defects, cracks, moldiness, insect damage, spots, glue marks, and color differences.
Non-woven fabric: No holes, no color differences.
Ligating band: No loose threads, sewn securely.
Edge finishing process: The edge is precisely and smoothly finished, without any gaps, loose edges, broken threads, skipped stitches, or floating threads. The edge tape has no color difference and is of consistent size. The non-woven fabric edge has no holes.
II. Seam Inspection and Structural Verification (Process Inspection)
Seam Symmetry: Left and right should be symmetrical, with an allowable tolerance of ±4cm; the colors should be consistent; the error in longitudinal seam matching of the fabric should be ≤1.5cm. When sewing the felt pads, the edge materials should be aligned, without frayed edges, and the pressed lines should be pressed onto the seam.
Backrest: The lower part is 8 cm away from the bottom; the filling material should be dense without any gaps; the two sides of the backrest should be symmetrical with the edge material; the size of the cushioned backrest should be sewn according to the sample.
Positioning: Centered, symmetrical, distinguish between the larger and smaller ends, and be consistent with the sample.
At the connection point of the hemming tape: Fold the top part twice, each fold being 1 cm, and sew 4 stitches to secure it.
III. Accessories and Function Inspection (Safety Certification)
Latch: Identify the upper and lower edges clearly, and ensure the tightening position is centered.
Headband details: The edge band should be left with 2 cm. It should be smoothed using a lighter. The employee number should be placed on the head, positioned squarely and centered.
Eight-point elastic adjustment: The upper and lower parts are connected at the center point; the elastic band on the base is 20 cm away from the center point, 4.5 cm on each side from the center point; the back elastic band is about 18 cm, and the height on both sides is the same.
Stop edge trimming: Width 0.2 cm. The straight and curved lines should be smooth and uniform, and no more than three dotted lines are allowed.
Thread quality: The thread ends on both the front and back sides are clean, without jumping stitches, floating threads, or needle holes. The stitch spacing is uniform (2.5 stitches per centimeter).
IV. Inspection of Filler and Liner (Material Certification)
Liner: No holes, no wrinkles, no leakage of pressure, and uniform gaps in the middle.
Coarse padding fabric: Not prominent; the sponge edges are smooth and the angles are correct.
Cloud-like filling: evenly distributed.
Coil sealing: The stitch spacing is uniform, neither too loose nor too tight, and there are no gaps.
Edge treatment: The connection area and the remaining parts at the head are smoothed out using a lighter.
V. Overall Product Inspection (Final Inspection)
Overall alignment: No deformation. When trimming, the left and right materials do not differ in size.
VI. Linkage between Factory Audit and Certification
Factory Audit: The audit should cover the cutting, sewing, filling, and edge binding processes of the automotive seat cushion production enterprises; check the calibration records of equipment such as needle spacing meters, tension meters, and flame retardancy testers; review the certification certificates of raw materials (fabrics, bamboo fibers, non-woven fabrics, elastic bands, snap fasteners, etc.) (such as flame retardancy certification, ROHS, etc.).
Inspection: Conduct random sampling inspections on each batch of products, including appearance, size, seam strength, accessory firmness, and uniformity of fillers.
Certification: The export of seat cushion products must comply with the certification standards of the target market (such as EU REACH, US FMVSS 302 flame retardancy, etc.). During the inspection process, verify the consistency between the product labels and the certifications.
