A Comprehensive Guide to Inspection and Certification of Washing Machine Products

In the scorching summer, apart from air conditioners, washing machines are also household favorites. In the face of the fact that there are many clothes to change and wash in summer, and most of them are short-sleeved and easy to clean, many families choose to use washing machines to save time. To ensure the quality of the washing machine, the inspector needs to conduct a systematic inspection from aspects such as appearance, components, power-on test run and accessories. The following are the key points for inspecting washing machines, along with the requirements for factory inspection audits and product certification.

Step 1: Visual inspection (Basic inspection)
Opening the packaging box, the inspector first checks the appearance quality of the washing machine:

It is elegant and generous in appearance, smooth and clean, with light and delicate colors and clear lines.

The surface of the box is free of scratches and the paint is hard and bright. The plastic parts have no warping, deformation, burrs, cracks or fissures.

The inner surface of the laundry tub is smooth.

Special attention should be paid to ensuring that there is no weld opening at the welding parts and that the fasteners are not loose.

The sight holes of the front door glass should be smooth and transparent, free of cracks and bubbles.

For agitator washing machines, open the upper cover and use a 2-cent coin to check the gap between the outer edge of the agitator and the agitator groove of the washing drum. The coin should be able to be inserted and slide along the rim of the wheel once, with a uniform gap. The fixing screws of the agitator are firm, and the hand can rotate smoothly in both forward and reverse directions without any abnormal noise.

Visual inspection is the first step in goods inspection and also an important basis for evaluating the injection molding, sheet metal and welding processes of the factory during factory inspection.

Step 2: Component quality inspection (Performance inspection)
When the lid of the bucket is opened, the bucket body is smooth and flat without any defects.

The gap between the agitator and the periphery of the barrel body should be approximately 1 to 1.5mm. Turn the agitator by hand. It rotates smoothly left and right without any abnormal noise.

Press the piano key switch, rotary timer or program controller on the control panel freely.

The knobs, buttons and pull rods are easy to operate, firmly installed and have correct functions. There should be no jamming or non-repositioning when pressing or lifting the button.

These functional tests are directly related to the user operation experience and product reliability, and they are routine test items in certification.

Step 3: Power-on test run (performance and safety inspection)
Double-tub semi-automatic washing machine
The wavewheel operates normally in both forward and reverse directions.

The buzzer will sound an alarm when the timer is about to reach the set point.

The dehydration bucket can rotate. When the cover of the dehydration bucket is opened, the dehydration bucket should be stopped.

Fully automatic washing machine
It can operate according to the set program, and the control of the inlet and outlet valves is normal.

Drum washing machine: Run it idle to check for program errors and whether the display indicator lights are correct. Select single swing to the maximum speed and observe whether the inner ring of the drum is nearly stationary (the smaller the amplitude, the better the motor). Listen to the mechanical and AC noises of the motor during operation. The smaller the noise, the better the motor.

Inspection of water intake, drainage and dehydration performance
When water is entering automatically, touch the plastic water inlet of the water inlet solenoid valve. If there is a vibration, it indicates that the water inlet system is normal.

After the water has been filled in, rotate the washing bucket in both forward and reverse directions. When touching the outer shell by hand, there should be no "tingling and electric" sensation (insulation test).

When the power is turned off, it indicates drainage. Generally, the water should be drained within 2 minutes, and then it will automatically enter the dehydration program. Open the cover of the dehydration bucket to a certain distance. The dehydration bucket should stop rotating within a few seconds (check the safety switch).

Anomaly check
The entire process should not have any malfunction, abnormal noise or water leakage (fatal defects).

Fill the washing bucket and the dehydration bucket with water and check if there is any water leaking from the bottom of the two buckets. Place the drain pipe on the ground and turn off the drain switch. If water still flows out, it can be determined that the washing bucket is leaking.

Check the elasticity of the rubber strip on the door seal: Insufficient elasticity may cause water to seep through the door gap.

The above-mentioned tests involve electrical safety, mechanical safety and durability, and are core items in product certifications such as CCC and CE.

Step 4: Inspection of Attachments and Documents (Goods Inspection and Factory Inspection)
Check whether the random accessories are complete and in good working condition according to the manual.

Check whether the product qualification certificate, warranty card and certification marks (such as CCC, CE) are complete and clear.

Factory audit is associated with certification
Supplier factory inspection: It is necessary to verify the sheet metal, injection molding, assembly, testing and other processes of the washing machine manufacturing enterprise. Calibration records of testing equipment (withstand voltage meter, ground resistance meter, leakage current meter, noise meter, etc.); Qualifications of inspection personnel; And the process for handling non-conforming products.

Product certification: The export of washing machines must comply with the certification standards of the target market (such as China CCC, EU CE, CB, US UL, etc.). When inspecting the goods, check the consistency between the labels, instructions and certifications.

Continuous improvement: For non-conformities identified during inspection (such as scratches on the surface, water leakage, and excessive noise), a rectification report should be formed, followed up in a closed loop through factory inspection, and a quality traceability file should be established.

Through the above inspection, testing, factory inspection and certification processes, it can be ensured that the washing machine products fully meet the standards in terms of safety, reliability and durability. For more inspection knowledge, please keep following this column.
