Bathroom and shower room inspection methods and test contents, factory inspection, inspection and certification services

Bathroom products are a core component of home renovations, and their quality directly impacts the user's daily comfort and safety. Leakage, cracking, or functional failure can cause significant inconvenience. Therefore, implementing a systematic and rigorous inspection process for bathroom and shower room products during the inspection process is crucial to ensuring overall quality. As a QC inspector, you must strictly follow the following steps during factory and product inspections to ensure compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.

1. Bathroom assembly inspection

Assembly quality directly affects the product's functionality and lifespan. During inspection, you should fully participate in the actual assembly process and strictly refer to the instructions to ensure that the assembly process is consistent with the inspection standards.

1. Assembly process compliance inspection

  • Check whether the product can be assembled smoothly according to the instructions, and confirm that the accessories, attachments, models and quantities are consistent with the instructions.

  • Inspectors need to personally operate key connections and fitting parts to truly feel the difficulty of assembly and possible structural or process problems.

  • If it is discovered that factory personnel do not assemble according to the instructions (such as skipping steps based on experience), they must correct it immediately to ensure the rationality and completeness of the assembly instructions.

  • Each unit should be installed and supervised one by one to avoid inspection omissions caused by running multiple units in parallel.

2. Standardization of assembly tools

  • The tools provided with the product must be used for installation. The use of non-standard external tools is prohibited unless explicitly permitted in the manual.

3. Common assembly quality issues <br>During inspection, the following typical issues should be checked:

  • Missing or insufficient parts, especially missing hardware in small packages;

  • Hole size or position deviation, such as hole diameter is too small, too deep, offset, etc.

  • The hardware is not installed smoothly or cannot be locked, resulting in a loose structure;

  • Parts are deformed, cracked or damaged during the locking process;

  • The moving parts are not smooth to push and pull, and there is rust on the hardware;

  • The gaps between parts after assembly are too large or uneven.

2. Basin Inspection and Testing

As the basic load-bearing component of the shower room, the basin's structural strength and drainage performance are the focus of factory and shipment inspections.

1. Load-bearing test

  • Adjust the adjustable feet to the highest position, apply a load of 150 kg and let it sit for 4 hours;

  • During the inspection process, it is necessary to confirm that the load-bearing materials (sandbags/standard blocks) are sufficient. If not, it should be reported in time and noted in the inspection report;

  • After the test, check whether the bottom basin is cracked or damaged, and whether the feet are stable.

2. Steel ball drop test

  • Use a steel ball with a diameter of 37mm and a weight of 200g, and drop it freely from a height of 1 meter to impact the surface of the bottom basin;

  • Check for cracks or breakage.

3. Drainage test

  • Adjust the base to a level state (level bubble in the center);
    -Perform water discharge and drainage operations and check the residual water area:

    • If the diameter of accumulated water in the area 15 cm away from the drainage hole is greater than 8 cm, or greater than 10 cm within 15 cm, it is unqualified.

4. Drop test

  • Perform five-side drop and inverted box tests according to inspection specifications, usually performed according to customer checklist requirements.

3. Glass room and tempered glass inspection

1. Switch fatigue test

  • The shower door is opened and closed 300 times to test the durability and smoothness of structures such as hinges and slide rails.

2. Water leakage inspection

  • After the switch test, spray water on the door gaps and joints to check for water leakage.

3. Tempered glass quality verification

  • Scanning test : Scan with a special lamp, the tempered glass should show irregular lines;

  • Broken particle inspection : After crushing, the number of particles in a 5×5cm area should be ≥40;

  • Screen printing adhesion test : Use 3M tape to perform a tape test to check whether the printing falls off;

  • Impact test : For glass with a thickness of 5mm or more, use a 0.2kg steel ball to impact 3 designated points on the same glass from a height of 0.5m.

4. Multifunctional board and comprehensive performance test

1. Multi-function board inspection

  • Check the appearance and structure of the front and back sides;

  • Test the function of each gear switch one by one to ensure that all functions are working properly.

2. Comprehensive water leakage test

  • Perform water spray tests on the joints of the multi-functional panels, glass joints, water retaining strips and the entire shower room to ensure that all water flows back to the bottom basin without leakage.

3. CE compliance inspection

  • If CE requires a minimum height of 5mm, corresponding measurements must be made.

4. Pallet humidity detection

  • Measure 3 points on each pallet and the humidity should be within the range of 7%–18%.

5. Water Retention Test

  • Use a shower head at a height of more than 30 cm from the bottom of the door, spray evenly up and down at a 45° angle, avoiding 90° direct or fixed-point spraying, and check whether the water flows back without leakage.

5. Inspection, Verification and Summary

During the final inspection of shower room products, the following steps need to be completed systematically:

  1. Packaging and data verification : confirm that the outer packaging, instructions, labels and reference materials are consistent;

  2. Assembly participation and comparison with gold samples : actual assembly operation and comparison with gold samples;

  3. Functional realization test : including various functions of the multi-function board, drop test, bottom basin strength, glass performance, water leakage, silk screen adhesion and humidity test, etc.

  4. Execute according to Checklist : Specific inspection items must be strictly carried out in accordance with the customer's factory inspection standards and inspection checklist.

Summarize

For QC inspectors, inspecting bathroom and shower products is a systematic and meticulous process, encompassing multiple dimensions, including assembly, structure, materials, functionality, and safety. Only by rigorously following every step of the inspection process and accurately identifying potential quality issues can we ensure that products meet acceptance standards, safeguarding customer interests and brand reputation. Mastering these inspection processes will significantly increase factory inspection pass rates and customer satisfaction.
