  • -The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (PDA) and the American Pet Products Association (APPA) will check the test levels of lead and other toxins in pet products to ensure pet safety; some pet product suppliers will also conduct random inspections of the test levels of lead and other toxins in their products from time to time.

  • REACH testing is required, especially when importing pet products from suppliers. This is a European Union regulation that governs the use of chemicals in products sold within the EU. If you import pet products from a Chinese pet product factory into the EU, you may need to perform REACH testing to ensure the products do not contain any restricted or harmful chemicals.
